Faux Fall Foliage

I’ve always said I’m one of the rare designers (and maybe the only one 🤷🏾‍♀️) who doesn’t decorate my house for holidays. Growing up, my mom never decorated our house, and once I lived on my own I moved every year (and I’m still doing that now with the army) so half the time my apartment was never unpacked and I still try not to accumulate anything extra. This year I’m thinking about getting into the season spirit just a little bit.

Earlier this year I hung a faux greenery patch in the space between my two peacock frames. I’m still not sure what inspired me to put it in that particular spot, but I LOVE it. When I first put it up, I attached pink flowers I used years ago in a school project. The pink was perfect at the time because we were just rolling into spring.

I had planned to change it up for summer, but BAM! Covid came flying in and I never left the house after March. I didn’t buy anything online because I wasn’t thinking about it and I was also (and am still) furloughed so I didn’t want to spend money unnecessarily.

Now that we’re heading into fall (where did the year go?!), I figure I might try to decorate my little greenery wall!

I’m not much into the typical oranges and reds of fall, but more of the deeper reds/wines and purples, so I think I may go that route. Here are the some of the options I’m considering:

Right now I'm loving the purple hydrangea and the blackberry florals from Pottery Barn. They're warmer, darker colors and I love the addition of a faux fruit. I think that would be a real cool dynamic. But we'll see where I end up!

If you have some floral stems for fall that you think I'd love, let me know!
